Consumed by anger and love
The tiger and dove
Are always fighting
Forever crying
As the thousandth tear
Drowns away the fear
Betrayal's poison.
Yet we can only stop and stare
As death sweeps those who were aware,
Silenced by arson
For from the perpetrator's eyes
The innocent that die
Simply deserve to
Now there is nothing we can do
As the fire and the flame
Swallow all that's left to blame
Burning hatred.
Sins reduced to ashes
It's too late to save us from ourselves
A world desecrated,
Another nation lost beneath the sun
Our end has just begun
I remember the day
When I opened my eyes.
I saw the world around me
In a new light.
This escape from the darkness
Had left me barricading
The overwhelming brightness
Of a culture left to wither.
I heard the serenade of nature,
Her voice drowned out
By the cacophony of mankind.
Her tormented cries,
Her inert decay,
Reached out through her plea
For escape from this plight,
Her wails ignored from our abandoning,
Her life burnt out.
This shroud of selfishness
Had been blinding me,
I've now begun to understand ourselves,
How we drink from the river
Then isolate each other
From one another.
I see our children dancing

We are all slaves of society
Celebrating mediocrity
Ostracizing curiosity
Erasing abnormality
Using medication

Feeding their delirium
Blowing up their cranium
Drowning them in lithium
Our world is an asylum
Please realize
That through my eyes
You're ruining their lives
Can't you see the lies?
You pop that pill
Against their will
You rob them of their skill
Their options are to kill
Your never-ending crave
For a deadpan brainwave
Has sent them to the grave
Their bodies left to scath
Consumed by anger and love
The tiger and dove
Are always fighting
Forever crying

Drowns away the fear
Betrayal's poison.
